The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest and Helena-Lewis and Clark Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) invite interested parties to submit project proposals for funding consideration. The RAC will consider proposals for projects that are on—or provide substantial benefits to—National Forest System lands within Broadwater, Meagher, Teton, Lewis and Clark, and Judith Basin counties. The deadline to submit project proposals is July 31, 2025.
Last year, the forest and RAC awarded nearly $740,000 in funding to partners to enhance and improve ecosystem health and access to National Forest System lands.
Projects can be considered for RAC funding if they make additional investments in, and create employment opportunities through:
- Improvement or maintenance of existing infrastructure, including roads;
- Implementation of stewardship objectives that enhance forest ecosystems; and/or
- Restoration and improvement of land health and water quality.
Interested parties should coordinate with Helena-Lewis and Clark Forest Service staff and all other partners prior to submitting their proposal. The next Helena-Lewis and Clark RAC meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for September 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at 2880 Skyway Drive in Helena. Proponents are encouraged to attend this meeting and come prepared to answer questions regarding their project proposals.
